Minister Oleatha Everett Bethea, the founding director of Summit of Light, was created to be a watchman intercessor — first to her family, now to Christian ministers. Before Summit of Light, she served as an administrator in the United States Air Force for 20 years, and then in the legal profession for over ten.
Minister Bethea's pastor at this time is the Reverend Dr. Dwight Riddick, Sr. of Gethsemane Baptist Church @ The Transformation Place in Newport News, Virginia.
Almighty God created Minister Bethea with 'fight' and has spent years training her to be a skilled spiritual combatant — one who fiercely protects those He entrusts to her care. And that training is ongoing.
Minister Bethea earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).
She is the proud mother of three adult children, a grandmother, and great-grandmother. An accomplished speaker and published author, she is passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ and her family — which are most often the topics of her speeches and written materials. Semi-retired, Minister Bethea currently lives in beautiful Virginia with her daughter and youngest grandson — although her heart still soars somewhere in the high country of the majestic Colorado Rockies!
Minister Beverly Ann Butterworth Lyons is an Asbury Park, New Jersey native. She is the seventh child of the late Rev. Ernest W. and Mrs. Nellie R. Hayes Butterworth, Sr.
An incredible woman of God, Minister Lyons is an esteemed Bible scholar and teacher. For years she functioned as a Sunday school teacher, worship leader, and ministered to inmates at the Monmouth County Correctional Center in Freehold, New Jersey. Minister Lyons also faithfully served as church administrator at The Power of Christ’s Gospel Ministries, Inc. in Long Branch, New Jersey from its birth until its season of ministry ended in 2015 – well over 40 years. Additionally, she taught students in the fourth through sixth grades, and students in the high school grades at The Power of Christ’s Gospel Academy.
She effortlessly flows in the Spirit – and especially in the spiritual gift of helps, which is her passion. A highly effective intercessor, Minister Lyons is a formidable spiritual combatant and currently serves Summit of Light in this capacity, as well as a member of its governing body.
Minister Lyons attended the Asbury Park Data Processing School and received a certificate in data processing. She also completed course work at the Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey.
A lifelong resident of Asbury Park, New Jersey, Minister Lyons is the mother of five adult children, and the grandmother of six adorable grandchildren.
Minister Lyons’ greatest prayer is that lost souls will come to Jesus, that they will experience transformation through His Word and love, and that the saints of God will manifest as the sons of God in the earth today.
Ms. Crystal N. Bethea, a native of Suitland, Maryland, received extensive leadership training during her 20 years of honorable service in the United States Navy. Ms. Bethea earned a Bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from St. Leo University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in social work, also from St. Leo University.
After retiring from the military, Ms. Bethea continued a life of service — in her community as a parent volunteer and advocate, and in various positions with Summit of Light. She is also a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church @ The Transformation Place in Newport News, Virginia.
Despite life's twists and turns, Ms. Bethea firmly believes the Lord is indeed ordering her steps — just as He said He would in Proverbs 3:5-6, which is her primary anchor Scripture. Although she is Summit of Light's youngest Board member, she has a good understanding of its purpose and is excited about serving as a member of its governing body.
Ms. Bethea currently resides in Virginia with the love of her life — her young son, Isaiah. She is honored to be his mom and, just as she views ministerial service, deems motherhood to be a sacred trust.
