Oleatha Everett Bethea

Minister Oleatha Everett Bethea, is the founder of Summit of Light.  She was created to be a watchman intercessor for her family and Christian ministers.  Before Summit of Light, she honorably served our nation in the United States Air Force for 20 years, and then in the legal profession for over ten.

Almighty God created Minister Bethea with 'fight' and is still training her to be a skilled spiritual combatant who fiercely protects those He entrusts to her care.  In March 1977, the Lord called and ordained her to be a minister and teacher within the Body of Christ — her ministerial credentials are John 15:16 and Ezekiel 3:17, 33:7.  From then until now, Minister Bethea's ministry training has been under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit.

Bishop Dwight S. Riddick, Sr., the presiding prelate of Fostering Leadership and Ministry Excellence (FLAME), and senior pastor of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News, VA, is Minister Bethea's pastor.  Bishop Riddick mentors and covers her through FLAME, a ministry ordained by God in July 2010 for the purpose of edifying the Body of Christ through the mentoring of senior pastors and senior para-church ministry leaders.

Minister Bethea earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus — formerly the University of Maryland University College.

She is the proud mother of three adult children (two sons and a daughter), the grandmother of three grandsons, and great grandmother of four.  An accomplished speaker and published author, she is passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ and her family — which are most often the topics of her speeches and written materials.

Although her heart still soars somewhere in the high country of the majestic Colorado Rocky Mountains, Minister Bethea currently lives in the beautiful Tidewater area of Virginia.
